MacGregor Downs Country Club offers a separate tennis membership for the non-golfer. The tennis membership includes use of the expanded tennis facility, swimming pool and all Clubhouse dining and social events.

The recently renovated tennis facility at MacGregor is one of the best in the area.  The facility offers 8 lighted clay courts and 3 hard courts. The enlarged tennis building includes the tennis pro shop, locker rooms and a covered viewing area overlooking the courts and Lake MacGregor. 

MacGregor Downs is home to the annual Prevent Blindness Charity Tournament in August, an event that hosts over 100 teams. Other sanctioned tournaments are also held through the tennis season.

Bobby Heald, MacGregor’s Director of Tennis and USPTA professional, provides an active year-round tennis calendar for members of all skill levels. Bobby was recently inducted into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame as well as the University of South Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and is one of the top tennis players in North Carolina in his age bracket.

League play is available for Club and Inter-Club play. MacGregor also offers an active junior program with clinics and leagues for all ages and skill levels.
